This year, I was determined to get the scene completed. I started with the tree.
Here's what I did (not necessarily in this order).
I wanted a vintage look, so I first searched for vintage Christmas cards. I took them into Photoshop, made them super small, printed, cut out, aged, added gloss and string for hanging (did I say this took FOREVER!!!). Next, I made little round balls out of clay, baked, added glue and glitter for the red round ornaments, I also made super tiny candy canes with clay, I used deep red and translucent instead of white. It gives the canes an aged look. I then glossed them. The star was a cutout. I added glue, glitter and a small wire to attach to the top of the tree. Thinned out twine is wrapped around the entire tree along with 2 sets of LED lights (should have added more lights). I really wanted to make popcorn out of clay, but....well, no way! The round skirt was make with muslin that I painted old with and burgundy.
I am still working on the Christmas Scene, I'm hoping to share the finished room by the end of this week.
