Gearing up

Hello friends,
I've been away for awhile hanging out with my family. We had a wonderful summer, visiting New York, Washington, D.C. and beautiful Lake Tahoe. I am rested!

School will start shortly and I will be back in the workroom. Yes, I am excited, very excited to start working on minis again!

With the time away, I have spent tons of hours reading, viewing beautiful work from other mini artist, thinking up new projects to make, learning different techniques, ordering supplies for new projects and, of course, working on the Etsy store.

I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer, I look forward to showing you new work!

Wall Shelf with Lined Letter Baskets and Writing Table

Just finished a project I was working on before vacation…whew, lot's of details here. The wall shelf has 3 line baskets, stationery, a stack of tied letters and an open envelope and a few more letters. I also included a vintage style "letters" sign which is can be removed. The table is a redo from House of Miniatures, both are painted with Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Old White and lightly distressed. I think they look great together, but I haven't decided if I will sell them individually or together as a set. A few accessories to the table and the look will be complete!

Lots of goodies inside the baskets (included but can be removed)

The set looks great together, not sure if I will sell together or individually

A Visit to the Smithsonian…looking for minis

Good morning!
I am happy to be back. Took a little break to hang out with my family and vacation. A wonderful trip to New York and Washington. New York… WOW! This California girl was overwhelmed! So many things to see, places to go and people, people everywhere and all night and morning long, I don't know how they do it!
After a hectic, but fun time in New York, we took the train to Washington. I could not wait to hit up the museums. The first stop, National Museum of American History. Of course, I was looking for minis. My 6 year old daughter told me to close my eyes and guided me to a dollhouse full of minis. I must admit, I thought there would be tons of minis, we only found one house. I took a few images to share with you and found a few things I am going to try to make for the shop.
Next up: Two more things to finish for the shop and I will be open for business. Enjoy the images, and again I am happy to be back and working on minis.

More wonderful items for the shop

Good morning. I wanted to share a few new items I will be featuring in my upcoming Etsy shop. I just received more hand knitted blankets from mom. This time, a beautiful red, ecru and yellow. They are created with an extra fine thread with a small boarder around the edge. They are also t-shaped. We have decided to make all the blankets t-shape. It makes for nicer bed making.
I also completed more french street signs. They are super cool. Made with a tin backing and real rust edges. I am very happy with the way they turned out. I plan on making some with the rounded top also.
In addition to working on the shop, I am creating a few more wood pieces. A few surprises to add to the shop.
Finally, I am thinking of Christmas... Already??? I have a few ideas…..

Have a great weekend!

More Miniature Vintage Tin Signs

Here's a few more miniature vintage signs I created. When the shop opens, I will have lots of signs. They are created on a tin background with "real" rust around the edges to create a realistic aged look.

Right now, I'm looking to open the Etsy shop in August. The little one is out of school and vacation is coming. I want to have lots of inventory and don't want to close as soon as I open for vacation.
In the mean time, I am working on the shop and creating a few surprises that will be featured.

Creating My Etsy Shop

Good Morning!

I want to say hello and let you know that I am working hard on the Etsy shop. Taking photos…retaking photos, editing, cropping, uploading, sizing, entering details about the pieces, sizing and arranging. The shop is looking really nice so far. I'm excited and will have lots of cool items for your mini homes.
I look forward to sharing my art with you. Have a wonderful weekend.

Miniature Shabby Chic Game Boards

Good morning friends, as promised, here's what I worked on until the wee hours of the night. I wanted something for my shabby friends. I think they turned out nicely.
Now I'm going away to open that Etsy shop. I've already started, the task is daunting, but I have to get it done. I'm sure I will have some surprises when it's all completed. I will let you know when I'm up and running.
Thank you for friending me, complimenting my work and keeping me inspired, I absolutely love this job!
