Then There Were Three...

Finished the clock testers today. I will have three different sizes with a few different faces in each size. I figured out a way to make color bases, look for the colored clocks next week. The three I have here have a rusted tin housing with distress faces. The larger is a wall clock, the other two are table clocks.

Vintage Table Clock...

It took a few tries to get the clock to work out the way I envisioned. I wanted it to look old and not so perfect, I guess you could say "beat up". Using the rusted technique I was able to accomplish that look. My initial goal was to play around with different Annie Sloan colors, I am not sure if I can achieve the same effect with paints. I'm going to at least, give one a try. I will let you know how it turns out. If it is not successful, this is the design I will make for the shop. I'm also working on a round one (super difficult).

Tick Tock it's Time for Clocks...

I've been thinking of this idea for a long time and finally decided to give it a try. Little vintage inspired clocks for your mini home (and mine too)! 

I cut out a bunch (spent all day cutting) because I want to make them in all the Annie Sloan colors I have. If they turn out the way I image in my head, should be pretty nice. 

I will keep you posted.

BTW, kinda in between "real" house stuff and miniature stuff (that balance is difficult). Finally can pick up  the Travel Trailer again. Getting the top together, should have progress photos next week.

New Vintage Style Posters….

After spending so much time working on the fabulouslyflawedminiatures craft room, today I felt a great urge to make something in mini. So I decided to play around with vintage tin signs. These are super cute images of Marlo Thomas from the "That Girl" series I grew up on, a "It's a Wonderful Life" poster and a few Barbie and Skipper images.

I have a few in tin and I'm working on a few with a wood background. Will have them listed in the shop at the end of the week.

Getting the craft room together

Back to working on the Miniature Craft Room I have been creating for the last few months. I had a burst of DYI energy, so I decided I better get back to this big project. I have spent the last 2 weeks painting the built-ins, Annie Sloaning furniture, organizing the storage for tons of miniature art supplies and getting the garage back to a garage. I probably have another week or 2 left to get this entirely done. I looking forward to the space and can't wait to get back to making miniatures!

Potted Plant...

I've always wanted to try a potted plant, so I gave it a try today. After playing around with the leaves for a bit, I got them to look pretty realistic. I put them in a painted pot with a little dirt (tea).

Mini Flower Bouquet...

I've been playing around with mini flowers. Today I came up with a few ideas to display the flowers and thought, "wow, maybe I can sell these???".

So now I'm working on a (small, very small) collection of miniature flower bouquets and vases in different colors and vase style. I just love them.
