Mini Vintage Christmas Tree...
The Mini Vintage Christmas Tree is complete! Two years ago I purchased a few mini trees from Michaels after Christmas. They were not Christmas trees, but I knew I could make it work.
This year, I was determined to get the scene completed. I started with the tree.
Here's what I did (not necessarily in this order).
I wanted a vintage look, so I first searched for vintage Christmas cards. I took them into Photoshop, made them super small, printed, cut out, aged, added gloss and string for hanging (did I say this took FOREVER!!!). Next, I made little round balls out of clay, baked, added glue and glitter for the red round ornaments, I also made super tiny candy canes with clay, I used deep red and translucent instead of white. It gives the canes an aged look. I then glossed them. The star was a cutout. I added glue, glitter and a small wire to attach to the top of the tree. Thinned out twine is wrapped around the entire tree along with 2 sets of LED lights (should have added more lights). I really wanted to make popcorn out of clay, but....well, no way! The round skirt was make with muslin that I painted old with and burgundy.
I am still working on the Christmas Scene, I'm hoping to share the finished room by the end of this week.

2 Lovelies Today...
Today I bring you 2 lovely wing chairs that will add a nice punch of color to your setting. One a little more subtle in color than than the other. The first, a beautiful pattern of flowers in corals, pinks, yellows on a white background. It's a fresh look. The other, a beautiful white diamond graphic with a duck egg center on a medium grey background, very elegant.
Find them both in my Etsy shop, fabulouslyflawedminatures.

The Modern Chair Mistake...
I was so excited to make this chair because of the wonderful fabric. I edited a pattern that I normally use, but forgot to trim some of the width off. Normally, the armrest would go on top of the cushion and use up some of that space. After I completed the chair, I realized that something was off, hence the width. So now I have a wonderful wide chair that I cannot use for the Christmas scene....feeling sad.

Mini Christmas Cards...
I'm having so much fun creating mini decorations for my Christmas scene. I found these wonderful cards on the internet. I love the vintage vibe. I added a little message inside to give them a realistic look. They are adorable.

A Few More Christmas Goodies...
Working as quickly as I can on all the little details I want in this scene. Today I spent a lot of time working on the interior of the fireplace and the fireplace screen (still drying). I still have to paint the interior bricks and rust the screen, but I did manage to complete a nice little "JOY" sign.
Here's a peek:

Determined to do a Christmas Scene...
I have so many "promise" projects I have to do. What's a promise project? Little minis that have been requested that I have agreed to make. Not necessarily on a time line, but I have to get them done. Before I start working on them, I want to make a few things for a new scene I'm creating. I've always wanted to make a Christmas scene, but waiting two weeks before Christmas doesn't work. So I'm digging in a little early, so that I can actually get it done before Christmas. I've already created the Christmas trees, fireplace (still have to work on the inside and create the candles), presents and stockings. I have tons of other things to make, but I think I can weed them in as I'm making the "promise" projects.
Here's a few things I have created already.
