Pink Linen...

I'm starting to upload sofas and chairs this week. If you are looking for new furniture, stop by my shop, fabulouslyflawedmini and take a peek. I'm trying to stage each sofa, so that I can have a record  of what I created.

Getting Closer to the Look...

I'm getting closer to the look that I am going for on the mannequins. I love that numbered vintage look. Of course it's super scary marking up your "almost" finished work. So I needed time to figure how what to do. Here's one idea (below) that I feel pretty good about. It still needs something, I'm thinking maybe a little tea stain on the fabric to make the number look as though it's been there a while. I will give that a try this week.
I also purchased a few "no bleed" markers (thank' you Kat). Need to play around with them a little more (will show the results once I get something good).

Clocks in Color...

Today I finished a few more of the rusted clocks. I have listed a the small rectangles and a small round. I also got a chance to work on a few with colored housing. This group of three, is painted in French Blue and of course, distress to give an aged/shabby look. I played around with painting the interior edge the same color, but I wasn't too happy with it. I thought it worked better rusted.
These are listed as well.

Adding Finishing Touches...

Today I worked on the finishes for a few recent builds. I rusted the coat rack and made a cute vintage rose colored umbrella (a super easy build).
Yesterday, I stained the table top of the iron round table I created to sit in front of the settee. I was not happy with it at all:(.
Today I came up with an idea to make it better, I added a thin strip of rusted metal around the edge, then glued a bunch of thin wood strips on top (I distressed the edge of each one). Initially, I was going to paint to top, but decided to try to tea stain it. The tea stain was too light, so I added my Peets used coffee grounds, which gave it a look I was happy with.

New Builds...

I think I may be done building the freestanding furniture for the Travel Trailer. Today I worked on a table that will go in front of the settee, a vintage style coat rack, and a peg shelf for over the iron bed. I more work to do getting the table stained and rusted, rusting the coat rack and rusting the pegs. There are a few more accessories I would like to make as well: an umbrella, a tutu sculpture, sheets and pillow cases for the bed…so much to do, but loving it.

I also wanted to share with you a few adorable books I found at Hobby Lobby. They may be slightly larger than they should be, but they will go on the built in shelf, so hopefully they will be okay.

Bear in the Box...

I stumbled across a miniature artist, Yukitsplace on Instagram. She created a wonderful Jack in the Box using a bear instead of a clown. I fell in love with it. She photo'd a few steps to give an idea of how she put it together, so off I went. I made a few adjustments, but creating it was pretty straight forward and fairly easy.
I think I'm going to try one with a Bunny:).

In Progress: Travel Trailer...

I'm loving this project. Moving along on the Travel Trailer. I made a few edits to the shape. Still trying to figure out how I am going to work the top. I don't like the trim that goes along the top of the wall. I know it serves a purpose, but I am going to figure out a way to not include it…I need that wall space!
This trailer will have beautiful Annie Sloan Pure White wainscoting and trim. Today I am doing a dry fit and some cutting.

Last night I came up with an idea to make a wire shelf unit, of course, I spent the entire evening getting it made. I still have to apply the rusting technique, but it's going to hold lots of accessories!

New Bedding...

I am really preparing my shop for holiday shopping (fingers x'd). There are lots of new items listed and I have tons more coming. This week I have loaded new 1 1/2 inch toss/throw pillows, new 1 1/4 inch toss/throw pillows, lots of new wonderful color faux shelf blankets and I am slowly starting to add new duvet sets and new smaller hand knitted toss/throw pillow sets in wonderful colors. Once I get all the new items loaded, I will get back to a few wood pieces I never completed, a few small accessories and furniture (chairs and sofas). My goal is to make as many items as I can by the end of October. Then I can take a mini break.

The Chesterfield...

Last week I started working on a Chesterfield Sofa. I created a pattern, built the frame and happily began putting it together. Everything was going so smooth until I got to the arms. I tried this and that, and retried that and this, it just didn't work. I decided I didn't want to spend anymore effort on it, so I scratched it (except for the frame).

After thinking about how I could solve some of the problems, I gave it another try. I had a burst of "Chesterfield" energy on Sunday. As I was working and working and working, I began to realize that "I don't like making sofas". I was curious as to how this Chesterfield would turn out, so I kept going.

After a full day, I finally finished the Miniature Dollhouse Chesterfield. I think it turned out okay, there are some things that I could improve upon.

I'm not going to say I will never make another, but…
